I was born in Paraguay and adopted when I was six-months-old. I majored in journalism and focused on editing and writing I was copy editor for Spectrum, one of the nation's top 20 university-produced publications. I also majored in Sociology, writing about social problems for the Voice, the Bloomsburg University newspaper.
I spent time in Guatemala with a group of at-risk youth, talking to them about their lives and culture. I was also politically active, lobbying Congress with the National Federation of the Blind for voting rights and accessible textbooks. I enjoy hiking, reading, dog training, and horseback riding. The environment is important to me, and I try to reduce my carbon footprint however I can.
I want to be a teacher for blind students, helping them learn Braille, technology, and other daily living skills.
